The idea behind this poster was to link somehow Palestine with Ireland. I choose the yew tree because it’s a powerful figure around death and resurrection. Most of the tree is poisonous and the old Celts would rather eat the seeds and die than surrender to the Roman invaders.
The bird is a Palestinian sunbird, their national bird and it is holding the key that represents the dream of every refugee to return home.
Once I read that most people who is forced to escape and leave their home, still carry the key with them, even if the physical house doesn’t exist anymore.

The poster is a 1 color hand pulled screen print on heavy sand color paper.
The edition is limited to 100 copies, signed and numbered.
Approximate dimensions of 50 x 70 cm.
Frame not included!
Please keep in mind that this is a hand made product and slight differences might appear.
